How to Transfer the Ownership of a Telegram Group
Before learning how to do this, note that to transfer the ownership of a Telegram group to someone else, the other person needs to be a member of the group. Then follow these steps in order:
Step 1 Sign in to Telegram and select your desired group, then click on the group name at the top of the page to enter the group profile.
Step 2 Select Edit.
Step 3 Then select the Group Type.
Step 4 Choose Public from the two options you have. In the next section, select a link for your group, and then click Done.
Step 5 In the main menu, select Administrators.
Step 6 Click on Add Admin.
Step 7 In this section, select the desired contact (the person you want to transfer the ownership of the group to).
Step 8 Then you will enter a page where you can select the new admin’s privileges. Activate the Add New Admins, and then click on the Transfer Group Ownership button on the page.
Step 9 Next, a window will appear listing the necessary conditions for transferring group ownership. If these conditions are not met, select the Enable 2-step Verification option.
Step 10 In the next step, Telegram will ask you to choose a password and click the Next button.
Step 11 Then Telegram will ask you to re-enter your password and click the Next button.
Step 12 Telegram will then ask you to choose a hint so that you can remember your password in case you forget it. After typing it, click Next.
Step 13 In the next step, you will be asked to enter your email address. After entering your email, click Next.
Step 14 Then a code will be sent to your email. Get the code from your email inbox and copy it here. Then click Next.
Step 15 Finally, click the Done button at the top of the page. As you can see in the image below, the desired contact has become the owner of the group.
